Manny Pacquiao (PacMan) Wants To Fight 2 Times In 2021

From some sources, it is heard that Manny Pacquiao is interested to fight twice in 2021. Though he also said that he won’t be able to return to the ring for a fight before the first quarter of this upcoming year.

There are enough potential worthy opponents eager to fight the former and only eight-division world champion in the boxing history Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs).

A lot of interest will draw attention to Pacquiao fighting against IBF/WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. And if that happens, it would make a lot of money on FOX Sports PPV (pay-per-view). The reason is that Manny Pacquiao was really impressed with the performance of the welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr after he saw the victory over Danny Garcia on Saturday, December 5, 2020, and he’s interested to fight with him.

Eight-division world champion Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39KOs) would be the fight that the Spences management will try to do next at Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] for the summer of 2021. Anyway, is Spence Jr the right person for Pacquiao to fight with?

Mikey Garcia, an inactive former four-division world champion (40-0, 30 KOs) has repeatedly speaking about fighting with Pacquiao. Mikey was interested to fight with Pacquiao and he feels it inside him for this match.

The fact is that the 32-year-old Mikey hasn’t stepped into the ring for a fight since last February which would be a matter of concern for him. Nowadays, he’s looking like an out of shape super middleweight guy for his overweight.

Compared to other fighters, Mikey would be a poor choice for Pacquiao for his overweight and lack of high-profile fights.

Who will be next?

Pacquiao must need to face a proper opponent for him to avail the best amount of interest which cannot be done by Mikey.

On Thursday this week on December 17th, Pacquiao will turn 42 years old. His last fight was against Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman who was the WBA Super World welterweight champion. Pacquiao beat him by a 12 round split decision on 20th July 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since that day, he hasn’t fought anyone.

If Pacquiao doesn’t decide to fight until the summer of 2021, it means he’s been away from the ring for two years.

As Pacquiao’s high age and inactivity for a long time, it would be better for him to wisely take a tune-up level fight for best performance at his first match next year.

Manny Pacquiao is now the holder of the WBA Super World 147-lb title, and if he fights with anyone then he needs to make a decision whether he defends that title or vacate it.

If Pacquiao wants to keep it, World Boxing Association will sanction a contender whom he’ll have to face for that match.

These are some Options for Pacquiao To Fight in The WBA’s Rankings:

Keith Thurman

Mikey Garcia

Conor Benn

David Avanesyan

Among these names, Thurman would be the best choice for Pacquiao to fight because he did some good job last year by promoting their fight with his interviews.

And again, it would be a great job when Thurman does all his hard work outside the ring for Pacquiao by giving an interview for their second fight because he’s a great speaker, which will do well for pay-per-view (PPV).

Mikey Garcia wouldn’t be a good option for Pacquiao because he didn’t do anything good since he has lost badly to Errol Spence and beating Jessie Vargas.
