The WWE WrestleMania 37 is the Biggest and most anticipated pay-per-view (PPV) professional Wrestling event in WWE history that will take place on Saturday & Sunday, April 10 & 11, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida, USA.
What is WrestleMania?
WrestleMania is an annual pay-per-view wrestling show and the flagship event of World Wrestling Entertainment – WWE. It basically aired between mid-March to mid-April every year. WrestleMania also famously known as “The Showcase of the Immortals” and the greatest of the WWE’s “Big Four” wrestling events. The other three big events are known as Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
WrestleMania is the most successful and longest time running professional wrestling event in the history of wrestling entertainment. It is the biggest event where the top wrestlers come, wrestle & entertain everyone. Big celebrities such as Mike Tyson, Donald Trump, Kid Rock, Ronda Rousey, Snoop Dogg, Floyd Mayweather, Pamela Anderson, and more superstars have come or made special appearances at “The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment” WrestleMania.
This wrestling event usually lasts for approximately 5 hours to 5 hours 30 minutes. Various kinds of wrestling matches such as Single matches, Tag-Team titles, United States championship, Triple Threat match, Intercontinental championship, Womans championship, WWE championship, and more happen at this greatest show. Forbs ranked WrestleMania sixth most valuable sports brand in the world and described it as the Super Bowl of sports entertainment.
History of WrestleMania
The concept of WrestleMania has come from the WWE owner, chairman, and CEO Vince McMahon, and the name “WrestleMania” was devised by the WWE’s long time ring announcer & Hall of Famer Howard Finkel in 1984. The very first WrestleMania was held on March 31, 1985, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Since the first event, WrestleMania has become WWE’s biggest and most successful flagship professional wrestling event in the history of wrestling. Most of the events have been held in big sports arenas in large cities in the last two decades. The highest number of visitors ever attend the spectacular event was at WrestleMania 3 with 93,173 spectators and at WrestleMania 32 with 101,763 spectators. The famous name “Road to WrestleMania” starts from the Royal Rumble event where the winner of the Rumble match gets the opportunity to have a guaranteed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania of the same year.
This strategy had started in 1993. But in 2002, World Heavyweight Championship was introduced and the Royal Rumble winner also get the chance to choose between the WWE Championship or the World Title. In 2006, the ECW brand also gave the chance to the winner to choose the third option – a match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. But this ECW option was closed in 2013 for the brand’s retirements. WWE Universal Championship was letter introduced as another option of choice for WrestleMania in 2016.
In 2018, another special match: The women’s Royal Rumble was introduced and the winner of that match has the option to choose either the Raw Women’s Championship or the SmackDown Women’s Championship. There is a total of 36 WrestleMania events that have been held till now.

Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic upon WrestleMania 37
The Covid-19 Pandemic has stopped the whole world in 2020, and the effect is still ongoing. For this Corona Virus situation, last year’s WrestleMania event was held without any attendance and behind closed doors for the first time in WWE history. It seems that this year’s event will also be held like the previous one.
The difference is WrestleMania 37 will have virtual fans in the arena to cheer up their WWE superstar. WWE features a new system called “ThunderDome” for fans for viewing experiences. There are about one thousand LED boards installed to give the fans a better viewing experience by attending the arena virtually. Also, these LED boards are connected with sound systems so that the chants from the audience can be heard.
